Histrology is a podcast that fuses history and astrology into lively conversations. Inspired by The Reluctant Bride by Auguste Toulmouche—a painting that mirrored the spirit of its two hosts, an astrologer-therapist-comedian and a filmmaker-historian—the brand identity draws from both the intimacy of storytelling and the grandeur of classical art. The visual system reflects a blend of the old and the new, grounding historical narratives in imagery that feels both timeless and freshly reimagined.
The project became a perfect use case for AI-generated art. By building on a classical foundation, we were able to create visuals that appeared historic, familiar, and painterly, while introducing punchier colors and modern energy. This approach not only gave the brand its distinct voice, but also empowered the co-hosts to generate custom artwork for each episode—depicting historical figures in fresh, unexpected ways. I developed the prompts and trained a specific style system, handing over a toolkit that enables the podcasters to continually create new episode art ad infinitum. The result is a flexible, living brand that evolves alongside the stories it tells.
Drawing inspiration from The Reluctant Bride by Auguste Toulmouche, I developed an AI-driven art style that merges classical, historical aesthetics with modern vibrancy. This gave the hosts flexibility to generate custom artwork for each episode, creating fresh depictions of historical figures while maintaining a cohesive brand identity.
